Plants

From rocky shores and machair (calcareous sandy grassland) backed beaches, to old meadows, peat bogs and moors to high mountain tops, an amazing wide range of plants can be found around Gairloch. In fact 680 different species of plants have been found within the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve alone. Fungi also abounds, including chanterelles in late July.
